Battery Backup System

A new battery backup system was installed on the W8SHI repeater today (May 1, 2010) More photos on the photo page

The system includes:

• 8 Optima Blue top batteries

• Magnum 1212 1200 watt inverter

• West Mountain power supply strip using power pole connectors to distribute the 12v power to the repeaters (2 analog and 2 digital plus computer).

We are anticipating 1 week of power for the repeaters under normal use and at least 24 to 48 hrs in emergency use.

We also upgraded memory on the gateway computer to 4 GB.
