Lorain County Ohio – After a successful launch of the D-Extra X-Reflector XRF038 the Northern Ohio Digital Interconnect Group will provide XRF038C for the Dayton Hamvention.

Both D-Extra XRF038C and D-Plus REF038C will be available and open for all linking, traffic and activities surrounding the Dayton Hamvention. This will give more options for D-STAR users as well as a larger global audience for the Hamvention. Non D-STAR assets will also potentially be linked to XRF038C allowing for an even greater exposure for the Hamvention and D-STAR.

XRF038 was put into service early in 2012 in response to a large number of D-STAR users asking that a more open & experimental friendly system capable of linking outside the D-STAR community be made available. NODIG initially moved the Ohio Wide D-STAR Net to XRF038A to gauge performance and participation. The OWDN & NODIG experienced an overwhelming positive response and increase in performance paving the way for a global roll out.
