...HIGH WIND WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 6 AM TO 10 PM EST THURSDAY...

THE NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE IN DETROIT/PONTIAC HAS ISSUED A HIGH
WIND WARNING...WHICH IS IN EFFECT FROM 6 AM TO 10 PM EST
THURSDAY. THE HIGH WIND WATCH IS NO LONGER IN EFFECT.

HAZARDOUS WEATHER...

* WEST WIND GUSTS WILL REACH 50 TO 60 MPH THURSDAY MORNING
THROUGH EARLY THURSDAY EVENING.

* THE MOST PROBABLE TIME PERIODS FOR THE STRONGEST WINDS WILL BE
BETWEEN 6 AM AND 10 AM...AND THEN AGAIN BETWEEN 3 PM AND 9 PM.

IMPACTS...

* MULTIPLE HOURS OF 50 TO 60 MPH WIND GUSTS COULD RESULT IN
CONSIDERABLE TREE AND POWERLINE DAMAGE.

* DRIVING WILL BECOME DANGEROUS...ESPECIALLY FOR HIGH PROFILE
VEHICLES ALONG NORTH TO SOUTH ROADWAYS.

* SOME STRUCTURAL DAMAGE WILL BE POSSIBLE.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

* A HIGH WIND WARNING MEANS A HAZARDOUS HIGH WIND EVENT IS
EXPECTED OR OCCURRING. SUSTAINED WIND SPEEDS OF AT LEAST 40 MPH
OR GUSTS OF 58 MPH OR MORE CAN LEAD TO PROPERTY DAMAGE.

* THIS STORM HAS THE POTENTIAL TO PRODUCE POWER OUTAGES.
ALTERNATIVE POWER SOURCES GENERATE DEADLY CARBON MONOXIDE. BE
